Cosmetic Injectables
Injectable cosmetic treatments are chosen by many individuals as a solution for reducing facial wrinkles and achieving smoother looking skin. Over time, all skin areas of the body age, with the damage mainly being caused by excessive sun exposure.

Neurotoxins or Dermal Fillers?
For those who are looking for minimally invasive treatments that will help reduce the signs of aging, there are a few options out there. At Inspired beauty Med Spa, we’re happy to provide several such services at competitive rates.
One common choice for many medical spa patients is between two different injectable agents: Neurotoxins or dermal fillers. These have different mechanisms and produce different results, but how do you know which is right for you? Let’s go over examples of each, plus how to choose.
Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins include popular treatments like Botox, Dysport and other big brand names. These injectable treatments act to block nerves from activating certain facial muscles – when injected, the targeted muscles cannot contract as they normally would. When this happens, these muscles stop pulling on overlying skin, helping smooth out creases, wrinkles and fine lines.
The effects of neurotoxin injections last for around three months on average, though this can vary. Some individuals have a lot of success with neurotoxin injections early in life helping prevent wrinkles and creases from ever forming down the line.
Dermal Fillers
The aging process leads to skin tissues underneath the top layer thinning out, which makes wrinkles easier to see and can cause skin sagging. Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, are intended to reverse this process by restoring volume. Some dermal fillers last months, while others are effectively permanent. Some are soft, while others are much firmer in texture. The type you choose will depend on the location your face, plus other individual factors. Fillers are meant to both “plump up” the face and help minimize wrinkles, creases and fine lines.
Your choice of injectable will depend on the area to be treated, plus personal factors. For a condition like crow’s feet, neurotoxins are generally recommended. For deep or long lines around the eyes, however, you might find better results from a dermal filler. Our experts can help advise you on the proper treatment.
